Alijah (Ami) Griffith

Ami earned her B.Sc. in Biology from Rhode Island College in 2020, where she first developed her interest in protein biochemistry and structure-function relationships. She further strengthened these interests during her time as a research assistant, motivating her decision to pursue a PhD. In 2025, Ami joined both the Korostelev and Grigorieff labs at UMass Chan Medical School, where she is structurally characterizing Angiogenin’s molecular mechanism of translation inhibition. Outside of her time spent in the lab, Ami enjoys volunteering, reading, and spending time with her friends, family, and pets.
