Strange CTF prediction - CTFfind

Dear Nikos,

I encountered this kind of prediction throughout a k2 dataset that was pre-treated with unblur for alignment of frames (no Dosage filtering) i got puzzeld as I have not seen this kind of thing before. Would
you have any insights about it and how to correct it?

Thanks in advance for your attention and help,

Taiana

ctffind_plot_results.sh and pdftk

ctffind_plot_results.sh requires pdftk which is no longer well supported and not available on recent releases of Fedora, RHEL or CentOS. Since pdftk is used only for changing the document's title, exiftool would be an alternative. Attached is a patch to add exiftool support as an alternative to pdftk.

ctffind 4.1.5 returns exit code -1

I am using ctffind 4.1.5 binary. In both interactive and scripted modes the program finishes correctly (all output is generated properly), however the exit code is 0377 (-1 in decimal).

(gdb) run < foo
Starting program: /home/software/em/ctffind_V4.1.5/ctffind < foo
[Thread debugging using libthread_db enabled]
Using host libthread_db library "/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libthread_db.so.1".

CTFFIND4 crashes with "ERROR: cannot find line with Final values in Micrographs"

I am running Relion 1.4. For the third time, with different data sets, my CTFFIND4 run fails (at the very end, so after many many hours) with the following message (this is the end of the log file):

latest ctffind4 installation problems

Hi,
I am trying to install the newest version of CTFFIND4 on my old laptop running Ubuntu 16.04 and get the following errors:

1) If I use ../configure FC=ifort F77=ifort: file 1
2) If I use ../configure: file 2
I do not understand the last one because I have explicitly installed fftw3.3.

Thanks for comments,
Best, Dieter

CTFTLT with known tilt angles/tilt axis

Hello,

I was wondering if there was a way to generate a CTFTILT program which would accept as inputs refined tilt angles and axes from a tomogram or RCT experiment (where the values are usually known much better than when determined by CTFTILT).

I think this would be quite useful to people who regularly do tomography (and to me).

Best,

Axel
