variance mapping
Forums
Hi,
i was hoping to generate some variance maps, I guess via the bootstrap resampling technique. I see this is possible in eman2 and sparx but I was wondering what the best way to do this is when I have already performed a refinement in frealign, therefore I have a frealign parameter file for all particles, and an image stack in spider format. I am running frealign version 8.09. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers,
Joe
It seems EMAN2 has a script
It seems EMAN2 has a script to go from frealign to EMAN.
See http://blake.bcm.edu/emanwiki/Ws2011/Agenda?action=AttachFile&do=get&ta…
This may not be exactly what you need, but it should be very close.
Steve Ludtke and the EMAN developers run a very helpful mailing list where you might be able to get more help.

Thanks I I shall give this a go!

Convert your frealign parameters to EMAN
I think your best bet would be to import your frealign parameter file to EMAN, then use EMAN. My understanding is that EMAN has functions to help with this, though I have not personally used them. Perhaps you could post on the EMAN message board?
