ANGAST giving large values in ctftilt
Forums
Hi,
on occasion I am getting very strange results for ANGAST, and it's causing me some grief tracking it down. It's not super frequent (2 micrographs of 98).
Here is the relevant output, as far as I can tell:
DFMID1 DFMID2 ANGAST TLTAXIS TANGLE CC
24619.03 25326.69 -1231.60 168.06 7.81 0.16212 Final Values
and it was generated with this input:
CS[mm], HT[kV], AmpCnst, XMAG, DStep[um], PAve
2.3 200.0 0.07 61404.0 7.000 2
Positive defocus values for underfocus
Box, ResMin[A], ResMax[A], dFMin[A], dFMax[A], FStep[A], TiltA[deg], TiltR[deg]
512 80.0 5.0 5000.0 35000.0 1000.0 0.0 12.0
Suggestions?

Are you using the latest
Are you using the latest version of CTFTILT? In an earlier version, the values of ANGAST were not limited to a range between 0 and 180 and could wander off to larger values, as you are observing. But this should have been fixed in the latest version.
subtract 360?

I'm not sure if it is the latest. It's Version 1.5.
For now, can I freely subtract multiples of 360 until I reach a number smaller than 1000?
Sure, just subtract multiples

Sure, just subtract multiples of 360. But you should download the latest version as well since there are always small changes that eliminate bugs etc.

downloaded and installed. I had functioning scripts with the old angle convention, so I just have to figure out how to change them to get consistent results. Thanks for the help.
