Energy filter and lower pixel size

Hi,

is there any problem in using images collected with energy filter for mag distortion determination? Would this bias the program?
Moreover, in the paper is mentioned polycrystalline gold with rings at ~2 and ~2.4 A. Would it be possible to use graphitized carbon grids with rings at 3.4A for mag with relatively lower pixel size?

Many thanks in advance,

Edoardo

Hi Edoardo,

We have measured the distortion using images collected with an energy filter so that shouldn't be problem. In theory any sample that you can get a ring out of when averaging enough images can be used for the estimation, in the expert options you can specify the resolution ranges to use for the estimation, so I think it should work with graphitized carbon - let me know if you have any problems.
