VP6 at 3.8 Å
A three-dimensional reconstruction of VP6, one of the rotavirus capsid proteins, at 3.8-Å resolution. This structure was obtained by cryo-EM and single-particle analysis; 8,400 images of rotavirus particles were processed, and icosahedral symmetry and nonicosahedral symmetry were imposed to achieve a high degree of averaging. Many side chains of amino acids are visible.
