Bronwyn Lucas

Bronwyn is using Cryo-FIB milling and 2D template matching to locate molecules in 2D Cryo-EM images of cells. She is developing new methods to differentiate discrete ribosome maturation states directly in cells, enabling her to visualize ribosome biogenesis in the native cellular context. She is using these approaches to explore how the cell coordinates the hundreds of assembly steps required to produce sufficient functioning ribosomes during periods of high growth.
