POSTDOCTORAL POSITION IN COMPUTATIONAL BIOLOGY/IMAGE PROCESSING

Our group has a postdoctoral position available at the RNA Therapeutics Institute in the Albert Sherman Center, University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School, to develop new image processing algorithms for electron cryo-microscopy. The Medical School is located about fifty miles from Boston. We are primarily interested in candidates with

• a strong background in computational image processing and algorithm development
• an energetic and interactive personality
• experience in electron cryo-microscopy (preferred but not required)

We study the structure of large macromolecular assemblies such as the ribosome, viruses and membrane proteins. We are interested in methods development to improve image processing algorithms and data collection protocols that help us find these assemblies inside cells and obtain in-situ reconstructions at the best possible resolution.
